On behalf of The Global Semiconductor Forum (GSF), I am pleased to welcome you to the summer newsletter, the first for the 2010 event.
The 7th annual GSF will take place in Singapore, 11th – 14th March 2010. Once again the event will also explore the photovoltaics (PV) industry following a consistent rise in demand.
One-to-one business meetings and interactive presentations on the latest topics facing the industry will take place over the three days, providing the best opportunity to share knowledge, network and develop long lasting partnerships.
Registration for GSF 2010 is now open. To find out how you can get involved please contact me today.
If you have any news which you would like included in the Autumn newsletter, please send your press releases to the news editor at gsfmarketing@spgmedia.com.

The Event
March is the month of the Global Semiconductor Forum. Since 2003, it has consolidated its place as THE premier meeting and networking platform in the semiconductor industry.
This year, the sixth GSF, once again sponsored by Applied Materials, surpassed every expectation, even for those companies that have been with us four or fi ve times. What’s more, the
fabulous Four Seasons Hotel in Macau was possibly our bestreceived venue to date.
There is no doubt that it has been a very tough 12 months for our industry but this seemed only to intensify the need for what GSF delivers: the opportunity to meet with new potential clients and
reinforce existing relationships.
A great deal of the success of GSF 2009 was undoubtedly down to the Solar delegates that were present. Executives like Stefan Kratz, MD Q-Cells China and Mike Petrucci, VP Global Ops, BP Solar enjoyed meetings with established semiconductor suppliers in this area as
well as companies who solely target the PV market.
Buyers especially are re-evaluating current contacts and there was plenty of focus on meeting established contacts. New business was generated too on a par with previous events, with one client indicating they would be gaining around $5 million from GSF 2009.
Programme
Manufacturing & Effi ciency, presented by Richard Chang, CEO SMIC; Partnerships & Alliances, presented by Alain Astier, ST Microelectronics; DFM and its Impact on the Changing Semiconductor Industry, presented by Lars Liebmann, IBM.
We also had a series of Solar seminars and discussions led by leading analyst Paula Mints from Navigant.
Speakers
As usual, we were very proud to have a top fl ight seminar programme, including an Accenture-led panel discussion where Scott Grant chaired a Q&A session involving:

Golf Tournament
Well above par this year was the Accenture-sponsored golf tournament. This took the first-day networking opportunity to a whole new level with a drinks and dinner event the night before, allowing delegates and suppliers to mix and get to know their respective teams, an early start the next day for a great 18 holes of golf on a truly world-class course, and finally prizes at the official opening night dinner. It was an amazingly popular success and one we will build on for next year, so we hope you will join us on the tee.
Networking
During the two days of GSF 2009, more than 130 executives enjoyed over 400 meetings, giving them real ROI on their attendance at the event. Outside the meetings, there were countless networking opportunities, from the gala dinners at night to a fantastic lunch in our main networking hall, this year sponsored by AG Semiconductor. Everyone certainly made the most of this unique collection of industry executives by networking until the early hours in the hotel bar.
Golbal Electronics Forum
Running along side GSF once again was the Global Electronics Forum , which allowed networking opportunities and in some cases private meetings with leading executives from the likes of Nokia, Dell, Sony Eriksson, Asustek, ZTE, Philips and McLaran. If you want details of the Global Electronics forum please contact us. All in all it was a busy and full three days. Feedback tells us it was one of, if not the, most successful GSF ever, with around 60% of people already signed up for next year ’s event. We look forward to continuing or starting our relationship with you in Singapore, from the 11th – 14th March, 2010.
